When it comes to application, accuracy is important. Many spreaders struggle to provide an even spread pattern, often throwing more product to one side or the other. The Yard Star® walk-behind spreader ensures an even spread pattern and accurate application, along with a 3-hole drop shut-off system and an easily-adjustable drop rate.
A 50-lb. hopper capacity and 175-lb. load-bearing capacity allow for the rapid application of fertilizer, seed, and salt. With a 2-position, height-adjustable ergonomic handle, the Yard Star® spreader makes application comfortable for operators of all heights. 13-inch pneumatic tires and a wide-set frame provide even weight distribution and all-terrain control. With a hopper cover and fertilizer/seed/salt compatibility, the Yard Star® spreader allows for year-round, all-weather usage.
Applications with Yard Star®
The Yard Star® spreader will require some assembly. Once fully assembled, start by making sure the spreader is properly calibrated using the instructions provided.
For spreader settings, refer to individual product labels as rates will differ.
To apply using Yard Star®, walk back and forth across the lawn at a normal rate. Notice the effective width of the application and allow 6 inches of overlap on each return. Always clean out the spreader after use. Check calibration regularly and adjust as necessary to ensure consistent performance.
